Formation Commission

St. Richard School
is happily called to be Christ’s eyes in seeing the needs of creation; His ears in listening with mind, heart, and spirit to others; His arms in supporting each other; His hands in reaching out to help; His feet in taking action. In this setting as educators, learners and servers we are providing opportunities for academic excellence.

Tutor/Teacher Aid
Work with students to improve reading and/or math skills under the direction of the classroom teacher. Assist teacher in the classroom/home with designated tasks.

Lunch & Playground Aide
Supervise the children in the lunchroom while helping with designated tasks plus supervise children during outside or inside recess.

Parent Club
All St. Richard School parents are automatically members. Meetings are normally the first Thursday of the month.

School Advisory Council
Meets monthly, normally the 2nd Thursday. Advises the Pastoral Leader and Principal regarding our Parish School.

Parish School of Religion (PSR)
Preschool through 8th grade. Classes are held on Sundays 9:10-10:20 am. We utilize the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program for Preschool - Grade 4. This Montessori based program used around the world is designed to facilitate the child’s coming closer to God in a more respectful and independent way.

Catechist
Teacher, Assistant & Substitute Gr.K-8 Preschool-3rd Grade Use the Good Shepherd Program. Grades 4-8 use text materials.

Catechist for Children’s Liturgy of the Word
These people help the young children of our assembly better understand God’s word by leading a separate Liturgy of the word for them, using translations of the readings that are geared to their level. If interested we can always use more help.

Vacation Bible School, Ecumenical
In cooperation with Swanton area churches, bible school is one week in June, and open to all children in the community.

RCIA for Children for Ages 7-17
sometimes called “Catch Up” classes, or for those children making the choice to become Catholic now. Meetings are scheduled and adapted to meet the needs of the participants.
